I had missed an email that had this information.
2nd Lieutenant John Arthur Swinson, Adjutant General's Department (USA), was the Assistant to the Military Attache in Lisbon, Portugal from July 16, 1918 until his return to the U.S. in 1919/1920(exact date?)
He received the "Ordem Militar De Avis" ( terceira classe) from the Republic of Portugal
as well as the
"Order of Christ" from the Republic for saving the life of the President/King of Portugal, Sidonio Bernadion de Silva Pais on Dec. 5, 1918.

Hey Eric... Attached are the most recent pics i could find...one of my siblings, Jennifer, Tom, Adam, me, and Paul (My Dad was your Grandma's older brother, and my oldest brother Johnnie was close in age to your Mom and Dad, but died at a young age. The second photo is a pic of me and my two daughters, Heather (29 years old) and Jennifer 28 years old next month -- the same birthday as you, actually, except for the year!)
